We will pose these musings monthly but use them as you feel moved to. You might spend more than a month with one question. Or you might revisit a question at a later time. Each time you visit or revisit a question, new possibilities emerge.
Mighty learner
“Every child is a mighty learner. To be mighty means to be powerful, robust, vigorous, stalwart, and awe-inspiring.
A mighty learner brings body and mind—his or her whole being—to play and learning (p. 144).
Your image of the child is how you are with each child. Think about the many ways you are with each child when they play, during daily routines, and when moving through transitions. When a child offers ideas through their play and interactions with others — think about how those ideas influence your decisions about how you organize time, create spaces, select materials, and participate with them.
